Counting down the days!!

In three weeks I leave for a four day, three night camp crop at Billowood Lodge with my scrap booking girlfriends. I'm so excited to leave, I've been counting down the weeks since July. I've started putting some kits together but I'll end up bringing everything I own plus the kitchen sink I think. We are 6 that go and we need to travel two per vehicle because we have so much stuff BTW all of us. We have been attending this crop for four years now. I hope the hostess never decides to stop running it, or I'll have to take it over! (Maybe) it's a lot of work. LOL Our hostess does an amazing job organizing this crop and getting prizes. I hope to get pics from my girlfriends to post here when we get back. Remember I have no camera for the time being. Totally sucks. I've been doing lots of blog searching and I found some pretty cool blogs that I'll be posting on the side so make sure to go and check them out. I'll have to go and look at some older scrapbooking pages and cards I've done that have been saved to add them to my blog. Kinda boring with pics don't you think. Going to help out a girlfriend tonight with a recipe box she is creating for her sister's wedding gift. I think it's such a wonderful gift idea. She used only old family recipes her mom made from their childhood till today. That's so sweet and sentimental.

No time for creating

I feel so overwhelmed that my mojo has disappeared for awhile. Traveling to Toronto with the kids to visit friends and Ontario Place, then helping my brother move to his new beautiful home. No time for crafting. Also another bummer is my digital camera broke and it's gone for repairs and it might be two months before I get it back. So I wont be able to post any pics until my camera comes back. I will keep you updated with any news or events with Stampin Up or myself. Hopefully the mojo returns and a fixed camera comes home soon. School starts tomorrow and my kids are so ready and very excited. They love school. I love that they love school. Makes my like so much easier in the mornings. Well need to get to bed because 7am will be here soon.

Note cards gallore

For an incentive at my SU party next week, I made these little note cards for the guest that spend $40.00 or more. They will get 5 cards, 5 envelopes in a clear bag with a 12 inch SU ribbon tied around it.

Note card with 3D scallop flower

This little note card will be my make and take at my SU demo next week. Materials are SU long scallop note cards, versa mark and a SU stamp, SU real red ink, SU pattern paper and a misc. brad., SU real red ribbon

Stampin Up scallop punch 3-D flower

First punch out four scallop circles. (Stampin Up used here) then fold three of the circles in half
cut the three fold circles in half, you should have six half's of a scallop circle
take all six half's and roll them into cones the same size. Then with the seam in the middle press flat.
The use the fourth scalloped circle to place your flat cones on. I used red to it easier for you to see. Glue you cones seam down. Place a medium size brad in the middle. Use something with a rounded end, (I used my poker) to open up your cones.
Voila!!! Hope this tutorial was helpful.

My Out of the Box challenge

I made this card with a stamped image that was raked to me from a two peas friend. The background stamped image was the one for the challenge. I is a really cool stamp. So many possibilities. I coloured the image with my pure colour pencils from SU and them used paper pencil stubs dipped in odourless mineral spirits and rubbed over the colouring. It gives a nice soft blended effect. This was my first try at this technique, hope to practice this more often.

More Christmas cards (part 3)

This card is stamped with the new hostess stamp from the fall/winter catalogue that will be coming out on Aug.11th 2008. I'm very excited to see all the other new items that will be in it.
Love the non traditional colours in this card, the snowflake stamps are also Stampin Up. This was a lift from my card magazine. This is other snowman stamp from Stampin Up, using up more of my scrap for this card. I also did some sewing machine stitching on this card This card is made with snowman pattern paper that I just punch out with my circle punch. Stamped on SU snowflakes on the background card stock This Christmas tree was cut from my cricut and I added red strips with bling, the stitching is done with my white gel pen. This was a lift from my card magazine.
Hope you enjoyed these cards.

More Christmas cards (part 2)

This summer has been flying by soooooo fast. I've barely had time to breath. The kids are ready to go back to school and they still have four more week of summer holidays. OMG I don't think I'll survive them. They are so cranky and can't get along but that should change soon because we leave in two day for four days of camping , tenting it style. The kids have never camped this way before so they are super excited. Only if they new the joys of tenting. LOL Forecast said only one day of rain so far, let's keep those fingers crossed that it stays that way.Let's get back to cards. Still struggling to get those cards finished. Going to share a few more I did last week and on the weekend. I really hope you like them and please feel free to comment on the ones you like, I love feedback, positive or constructive. All the cards below expect the third card(polar bear) were made with rubbons found at the buck or two. The polar bear card was cut from my cricut (joy of the season) and I used my swirls cuttle bug embossing folder. Most of the patter papers I used were scraps that I had in my stash. I love to use up my stash. Get more for your buck!! I hope you like them.

More Christmas cards

Here are a few more SU stamped images I did in the same colour scheme as below. I also used the dazzling diamond for the snow.

Christmas in July

I've been working hard on Christmas cards for a big order that was placed from my hubby's boss. This card is stamped with an SU stamp and I used SU cardstock. The pattern paper is basic grey. I also stiched on the card with my sewing machine. Love to hear some feed back.

Summer Fun

I've been off work for the last two weeks and I've hardly had time to do any crafting. Hubby and I have been working around the house cleaning, painting the deck, teaching the kids to ride their bikes without training wheels, going to the beach,......ect. I have started on some Christmas cards for an order that was put in. I have have 50 to make and so far I've completed 23. In the fall I'll have no time to get them done so this is the perfect time to work on them. I'll post the ones I've gone done soon. I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer and remember to wear your sunscreen.

Think Pink

My mom called asking for a card that has pink in it and a breast cancer symbol. My parents are invited to a 25th wedding anniversary in a couple of weeks and the couple asked for no gifts just a donation to the cancer society because she is a breast cancer survivor. Also the guests are asked to wear pink in honor of breast cancer. I think this is a wonderful idea!! I hope the couple have a wonderful day and they like the card I made for them. I'd love to hear comments from you all and get to now some of my reader and viewers.

On Holidays

No time to craft. I'm visiting the sister in law and family. We are in the beautiful area of Orillia. They live about 15 minutes from the city and have a beautiful lots on the canal. Yesteday we watched two families of wood ducks and their babies swim by eating the weeds and bugs. I wished I had my camera, they were so cute. Next week I'm hoping to get craking on some projects. Hope every one has a wonderful Canada Day tomorrow.

Wedding card

Another Wedding card I was hired to make for a girl in town. The wedding colours are - you guest it - lime green and purple. I raked my brain out but finally came up with this card. The edging for the front page came from a card I found in the gallery at slitcoaststamper and the saying is cut with my cricut. The stamped images are from SU. It's a retired set called "Happily ever after" and the images were sent to me from one of my raker friends at two peas. Thanks "Newmommy"! I hope my customer likes it. I hope the bride likes it. Thanks for looking.

Graduation Card

My co-worker asked me today to make a graduation card for her daughter that's graduating grade 8. I wanted something fun and funky for that age. So this is what I came up with. I cut the congrats with my cricut - Tear Drop - cartridge and the pattern papers and cut out butterflies were all scraps. I used my small SU star punch on some pattern papers. I added some stickles and a jewel for bling. I hope you like it. I do. Inside I use sparkly flower rubbons.

I found it!!!

I had lost one of my images from my "out of the box" image swap at two peas. This image was from Lauren. I was sure stumped with this one but this is what I created. I used all scrap card stock and patter paper again. Must use up that stash!!

Two birds with one stone

I was able to make one card with two challenges!! Yay! I completed my SYSAS challenge for this week by using 1 chipboard pieces, 1 piece of ribbon and some bling. All items must be at least 6 months old. I also added my "Out of the Box" image from my two peas site. This image of the koala came from my pea friend Maggie from Australia. All card stock and pattern paper used is my scraps also. I think I was able to lots of reusable resources in this card. I hope you like it.

Here is another card I did for my challenge. Again I used the pattern paper from my stash. The black and pink card stock is scraps and I stamped some pretty flowers in black and pink onto white card stock. The stamp is from SU called " garden silhouettes", it's one of my favorites.

Week #6 Scrap your Stash and Scraps Challenge
This week I've decided to make it real easy. All you have to do is make a card using three colours. Make sure you look in you stash for some great finds.
On this card I used black and white pattern paper that was given to me one of my RAK'er friends from Two Peas in a Bucket. The black card stock was in my scraps pile, the pink cardstock is SU and the flower was in my flower stash. I love these three colours together. Have fun creating.

"Merci" to Berry Bliss and One of a Kind!!

I'm eating my bowl of life this morning for breakfast and the phone starts ringing at 7:30 am and I'm wondering who on earth is calling at this hour of the day. It was my girlfriend and she was in a panic. She needed a french Thank You card by tonight. Of course I can't turn down a friend in need so I glad fully said I could make her one. While searching Splitcoaststampers for some ideas I came across this card http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/914058 in the gallery made by "knightrone" that it inspired me so much I just had to make it. So I got to work and this is what I created. My girlfriend loved it! She like the pattern paper so much she plans to purchase some at the next SU demo. Yeah!! The recipe for this card is Pattern Paper - Berry Bliss by Stampin' Up Card stock - rose red and pretty in pink by Stampin' Up Stamps - One of a Kind and A Souligner by Stampin 'Up Punch - 1/2" circle by Stampin 'Up (also used to make the ticket corners) Ink - Stampin' Up markers on Watercolour paper by SU - colours are rose red, pretty in pink Silver hardware - odds and ends from my stash ribbon - odds and ends from my stash pearl -kaiser

Love Notes

I'm in love with these 3x3 note cards. They are cute and so easy and fast to do. I'm planning a workshop on this cute little project in the coming weeks. It will be different colours and pattern paper, all Stampin' Up products of course. Keep your ears open for dates if interested, if your in my area. All products used on this project are SU and Kaiser pearls and bling. On the butterfly card I used the butterfly from the "Time Well Spent" stamp set. The background stamping on the card was a flower from the stamp set "Merci". The "Baroque Motifs" stamp set was used to stamp the background on the second card and again to make the flower. Pattern paper is "Le Jardin" and card stock is "bashful blue", "more mustard", "brocade blue". The punches I used - 1 3/8" circle, 5 petal flower, boho blossom, scallop circle and to make my scalloped edge on my pattern paper I used my corner rounder with the adapter pulled off. I hope you enjoy this pretty set. I sure enjoyed making it.

Money card mania

My turn to go to a wedding. This is what I whipped up together this morning. I love these "Le Jardin" Stampin' up papers. I also used the SU stamp set called "Merci" and I water coloured the image to match my papers. Again I added my Kaiser pearls to the card. The little flowers are punched out from the "Boho Blossoms" punch from SU. I hope to have more time to create next week, I just had no time this week to do anything.

Another Gift Certicate

I was going to a bridal shower dinner tonight and I bought the bride to be a gift certificate to our local spa. I made a pretty folder to put it in. I used a SU Simply Scrappin' kit from last season (no longer available) that I had in my stash. It's such a pretty kit and I still have lots left from it. I also added more of those self adhesive pearls from kaiser scrapbook. (my rak from Maggie! Hi)
I really love how it turned out. Sorry that the inside pic is so dark. I was in a hurry to take the picture. I hope you have enjoyed my creations for today. Until I create again, I bid you farewell.

Week #4 SYSAS - Wow that was hard!!

Well I did my own challenge and it was not easy. I closed my eyes and pick 3 papers and voila, nothing matched AT ALL. I finally found a card in the two peas gallery that gave me some inspiration. These were the papers I had to work with and
this is the card I found to help me with my big problem!!http://twopeasinabucket.kaboose.com/pg.asp?cmd=display&layout_id=1333230
and with this I was able to come up with this card. It's not my favorite. I don't care for my handwriting but I'm sure someone out there will like it.
I decided to try it again to see if it was just a fluke that is was so hard. These are the papers I got at my second stab at it. I found this one a little easier but I still don't care for my card that much. They are growing on me but it's not my style. I'll make sure the next challenge on Sunday is a lot easier that this. LOL
