Money card mania

My turn to go to a wedding. This is what I whipped up together this morning. I love these "Le Jardin" Stampin' up papers. I also used the SU stamp set called "Merci" and I water coloured the image to match my papers. Again I added my Kaiser pearls to the card. The little flowers are punched out from the "Boho Blossoms" punch from SU. I hope to have more time to create next week, I just had no time this week to do anything.

Another Gift Certicate

I was going to a bridal shower dinner tonight and I bought the bride to be a gift certificate to our local spa. I made a pretty folder to put it in. I used a SU Simply Scrappin' kit from last season (no longer available) that I had in my stash. It's such a pretty kit and I still have lots left from it. I also added more of those self adhesive pearls from kaiser scrapbook. (my rak from Maggie! Hi)
I really love how it turned out. Sorry that the inside pic is so dark. I was in a hurry to take the picture. I hope you have enjoyed my creations for today. Until I create again, I bid you farewell.

Week #4 SYSAS - Wow that was hard!!

Well I did my own challenge and it was not easy. I closed my eyes and pick 3 papers and voila, nothing matched AT ALL. I finally found a card in the two peas gallery that gave me some inspiration. These were the papers I had to work with and
this is the card I found to help me with my big problem!!http://twopeasinabucket.kaboose.com/pg.asp?cmd=display&layout_id=1333230
and with this I was able to come up with this card. It's not my favorite. I don't care for my handwriting but I'm sure someone out there will like it.
I decided to try it again to see if it was just a fluke that is was so hard. These are the papers I got at my second stab at it. I found this one a little easier but I still don't care for my card that much. They are growing on me but it's not my style. I'll make sure the next challenge on Sunday is a lot easier that this. LOL

Scrap Your Scraps and Stash Challenge Week #4

Below is my posting on my Two Peas RAK Group for this week. I'd love if you joined me in my challenges also. Let's all recycle some of our scraps and feel good about not wasting our money. Please let me know if you have done the challenge. I'd love to see your cards. I will post the first 3 cards that are send to me. "Scrap Your Stash and Scraps Challenge WEEK #4 OK, I know that their are lots of you out their with tons of scraps and stash. Even if it's only one card you'll feel so good to use some of it up. Think of it this way, for every card I make using my scraps I'll reward myself with a dollar. After awhile you'll have lots of money to go shopping for more stash!!!!! I'm just as guilty, I only made one card so far for each week. But the challenge is BTW 1 and 5 cards per week. I'm up to 3 bucks!!! Keep a little money jar on your desk. Seal it! Keep it there for 6 months and see how much money you have earned from using up your scraps from my challenges. OK I'm going to really challenge you this week!! Pick out 10 pieces of pp and put them on your desk (don't put like Xmas and Easter stuff together)but just random pp. Don't even have to match in colour. Give them a good shuffle, then close your eyes and pick out 3 pieces and use them together on your card. HE HE this is a hard one. Be creative. Don't Peek - keep those eyes closed!! WEEK #1 - you anything black on your card WEEK #2 - 3 pieces of matching pp on your card WEEK #3 - cut your smallest pieces of pp into little same size squares and use them as the background for your card WEEK #4 - eyes closed pick 3 pp from 10 random pp, use all 3 on your card together. Have fun, hope to see more participate. " I better stop typing and get to work creating for this myself. LOL

Just playing around with my stash

I promise to upload more cards or layouts this week but it's just been one of those weekends were I could find no time to create. I did make this card last weekend with more of my scraps. It's one of my favorite butterflies from SU. It comes from the Garden Whimsy stamp set. Nothing fancy but cute. I love those perls on the butterfly, a friend from down under RAKED (random act of kindness - two peas group) them to me couple of weeks ago. They are so great on cards. Thanks Maggie for the great RAK

Finished another Wedding card

I had fun with this card. I found the template on line at Capadia Designs . http://capadiadesigns.blogspot.com/2008/05/check-or-money-holder-baby-bug-version.html This site is great for cricut designs. I love this card pattern. I again match the colours to the wedding and the theme was stars. I heat embossed my swirl from the Baroque Motifs stamp set. To make the stars I used my SU punches. I then heat embossed those also. For the smaller stars I use my iridescent ice powder on them. To keep the card closed I embossed a sleeve with my cuttlebug D'vine Swirls folder. I have a secret, I still dont have the cuttlebug but I just use a hammer to get my embossed image. I works. LOL I'm very please how this turned out. I hope you enjoy it also.

Weddings are in the Air

My friend/co-worker asked me to make her some money wedding cards for her. One of the weddings the colours will be red and black so I thought fitting to make her card match. I used the "Garden Silhouettes" SU stamp set. The colours I used were basic black and real red. The red and black card stock is from SU also. The white I used is bazzil. It's very hard to see in the pictures but I retraced the stamped image with my "atyou Spica" sparkly gel pens. It gives the images a soft glittery look. I had some little red flower from doodle bug laying around in my stash and I added those on. I thought they looked cute. My co-worker has not seen the card yet, I sure hope she likes it.

Cute Little Note Cards

I did a clean up the other day with my SU card stock and pattern papers scraps. I decided to cut them up into 3x3 note cards. I then embellished with the SU pattern papers, heat embossed two different butterflies from SU onto vellum and then punched them out with my SU scalloped circle punch. I then had a ugly 50cent box from the dollar store that I altered to match the cards. Used another butterfly from SU on top of the box. Let me tell you that box gave me a headache. It was my first try at altering a box. Just gotta practice some more. The cards were very easy and quick to make. They will be great to give as a gift or I can keep them to give with presents. Next time your scraps overwhelm you, try making note cards.

The Untradional Wedding Invitation

My hubby's co-worker asked if I could make her wedding invitations because she could not find anything for their theme "fishing". I told her SU has a great fishing stamp set and she loved it. So I was hired!! This is my first time doing a wedding invitation so we had some screw ups here and there. In the end all turned out well, and the bride to be was very happy. The stamp set is called "On the Fly" p. 102 and the colours we used for card stock was "close to cocoa" and "bashful blue". The bride already had the ribbon purchased from another company.

Out of the Box Challenge

On my RAK thread at Two Peas in Bucket, some of us girls send out stamped images to colour and make into a card. I just finished this card for them, call "Just Chicken In!!". I also Incorporated my SYSASC challenge. Week 3 is find your smallest pieces of pattern paper scraps and make same sized squares and make a Mosaic background on your card with them. This is a great way to combine and use up those small pieces of paper that are too pretty to throw out.
I hope you are enjoying my blog as much as I am making it. Please leave me feedback so I can improve or add things you would like to see. I love hearing from you.

Using up my Scraps

Last night I was in the "zone" . The creative juices were just flowing. I love water colouring with inks. This is something new I just learned how to do last week. Here are a few cards I created using this technique. With this card I inked the stamp image with my Stampin Up Markers. Then I sprayed a very light mist of water onto the stamp holding it about 5 inches away. I then stamped it onto water colouring paper. It gives such a soft effect to the stamped image. Here is the link for misting, http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ee/index.php/resources/tutorials/misting_with_markers/ The next images I stamped using black Stazon Ink onto SU watercolour papers. Stazon ink will not bleed when others inks and water are applied to it. I then trace the inside with my SU makers. After I was all done my tracing I took my aqua painter from Stampin Up and lighty blended my colours. You can create many different shading doing this technique. All the stamped images and cardstock used on these cards are Stampin Up. Pattern papers were various scraps from different companies.

Happy Long Weekend

For us Canadians, this is the weekend that launches our summer. Many go fishing, others go and open up their cottages and camps to prep them for the hot months to come. Some brave the chilly nights and go camping. Brr!! I sure would not want to be them. Plus it's raining cats and dogs today so I'm very happy in my warm house. I've been busy creating some cards with my scraps. I started a little challenge over on my RAK thread over at two peas in a bucket. I call it "SYSAS" Scrap your Stash and Scraps. It's a fun way to use up all those pieces of papers and old stash you've got laying around your space. During week 1 I challenged my rakers to create a card containing anything with "black". They made me proud. They came up with some fantastic creations. This week (2) I challenged them to find 3 pieces of pattern papers that co-ordinated. I'm loving the cards they are coming up with. Tomorrow will be week 3 and I must come up with something very creative for them. These are the cards that I created for my challenges. All 3 designs were cased from some very talented ladies at splitcoaststampers.com . I always try to make the cards my own by only casing their design of the card. I hope you enjoyed my creations and I'll keep you posted on next week's challenge.

Just a few of my Scrapbooking creations

My new SU stamp set came in

Well I had to play with my new stamp set from SU. This one is so cute for those "girlfriend" cards. The set is called Sassy Suzie. You can find it in the May mini catalogue. I had lots of fun learning how to use my watercolour brush with my inks to colour this image. The pattern paper is some scraps I had stashed for some time. In my creations you will notice that I use many different companies. I'll admit that I sometimes forget what company is what. I heat embossed my "Sassy Suzie" quote and inside I did the same with a Happy Birthday.
My mom's friend just had a birthday so she asked if she could send it to her. Hope she gets a good chuckle out of it.

I've been busy

A girlfriend of mine hired me to make Thank you cards for her. She was my hostess during the month of April and wanted to give each client that purchased at her party a thank you card. These are the cards I made. Supplies used on these cards were all SU products.
